Review – Fenty Beauty

Hi everyone!

September 8, 2017 was a glorious day. Why, you ask? It was the day Rihanna finally released Fenty Beauty into the world. Her line consisted of foundation, highlighter, lip gloss, and even more. I snagged two picks from her line, and I’ve had some time to try them out. But are the products worth the hype? Read on to find out.

Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

Let’s be real here: gloss has kind of taken a backseat in recent years. Everyone has migrated over to matte lippies, especially in the form of liquid lipsticks. However, I knew I had to try out this lip gloss because hello, it’s the cheapest pick in the Fenty Beauty line! Also, I was intrigued by Rihanna’s claim that the gloss would look good on all skin tones.

The gloss has a slight color to it, but on the lips it doesn’t look to pigmented, instead it’s more of a shimmer. I thought that the gloss had a slight stickiness to it, but in a good way. It does dry fast, so you won’t have to worry about your hair sticking to your face. I definitely think this lip gloss is worth the buy.

Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick

When I first saw these skinsticks, I was drawn to the Unicorn, the purple shade. It was vibrant and bold and I thought it look amazing on me, but when I got the shade and tried it on, it read more silver on me. I decided to exchange the shade for Confetti. In the photo below, Confetti is on top and Unicorn is on the bottom.20170921_162454

As you can see, Confetti is much more purple than Unicorn, even though it doesn’t seem that way in the packaging.

Confetti is great, but VERY glittery. If you’re used to more matte, subdued looks, you should probably go for Unicorn.

I definitely plan to buy more from Fenty Beauty when my bank account allows it for it – lol. I’m interested in the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Metal Moon, and the Invisimatte Blotting Powder. I know you guys are probably wondering why I didn’t mention everyone’s fave, Trophy Wife, but 1. Everyone has it now and I want to be the rebel with something different. and 2. I’m not really a highlighter girl.

Have you bought anything from Fenty Beauty? Comment below!

Témi

  3. Have you tried the foundation yet? I wasn’t really a fan but I was wondering if maybe I’m missing some trick on how to apply it?

I haven’t tried it myself, but from what I’ve seen online applying it with a sponge (rather than a brush), makes a difference!
