The Best Work Shoes That Aren’t Heels

Hi everyone!

I love heels, but as I’ve gotten older my tolerance for the pain that they unleash upon my feet has been greatly lowered. And as someone who has a long commute into work everyday, I need something comfortable that I can rock all day long. Well I’ve done some researching, and I’ve come up with the top picks that you can wear to work, to school, or anywhere else you want some comfy shoes. Read on for my list.

Flats

I have to be honest here for a second – I hate flats. Somehow, it seems like I always end up in the most uncomfortable flats, with my toes squished and my heels developing blisters. However, I do know that a lot of people love flats, so I’ll include them on this list, and hope that I find a more comfortable pair soon.

Sneakers

I work at a more casual workplace, so I know this option won’t work for everyone. If your office does allow sneakers, you should opt for a cleaner sneaker like an Adidas Superstar or a Converse All-Star.

Mules

Here’s an interesting tidbit about mules – the fashion girls love them. When it gets warm, most people go for a sandal, but I noticed that the true fashionistas go for mules. I think it’s kind of cool how most people go for a toes out situation, but a mule is interesting because your toes are covered.

Boots

Boots are great, and I actually think I would pick a boot as my favorite style of shoe, partly because there are so many many different styles of boot. For a comfortable boot, I would say go for a flat like a Chelsea boot. For some added drama, you could go for a knee or thigh-high boot.

Slip on Sneakers

The MVP of this list. I think slip on sneakers are versatile enough that they could go with almost anything – pants, skirts, dresses, but they still look classy and you can walk around in them all day long.
