How to Make Your Summer Clothes Work For Fall

Hi loves! Fall will be soon upon us and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve always loved fall more than summer; the brisk autumn air, the holidays approaching, and of course, the amazing fashion! Fall definitely has the best clothing, and I always eagerly look forward to breaking out my jackets and boots. However, when fall comes, what do we do with our summer clothes? Are our tank tops, dresses, and skirts supposed to collect dust until the next summer? I’m here to show you guys how to incorporate your summer clothes into your fall wardrobe.

Shorts – Shorts are a summer staple, but it can be hard to know how to wear them in the fall. In the first look, the shorts are paired with a bomber jacket, tights, and combat boots. This look will ensure that your legs don’t freeze, and you can add thicker tights or even leggings if you need some more warmth. In the second look, the distressed shorts are worn with a tank top (another summer staple), and a longline cardigan. The cardigan is cozy and thick, adding a layer of warmth. Uggs and shorts are a thing that people either absolutely hate or love, but if you don’t like that idea, you can wear the Adidas sneakers instead.

Skirts – Skirts can definitely be worn in the fall! In this look, the skirt is paired with a striped sweater, and knee high tights. What I love about this look is that any style of tights can be worn, you can go as crazy (or tame) as you want with colors, patterns, and textures. This look is best paired with wedge booties; you can go with classic black or red for a pop of color.

Crop top – Ah, the crop top! Once only a 90’s trend, this style of top has come back into the 2010’s with gusto. For autumn, try wearing your crop top with high-waisted jeans or leggings for some more coverage. The moto jacket and Converse add some cool edge to this outfit.

Dresses – Dresses are always big for summer, but this year, two styles of dress really took off. Off-the-shoulder dresses and slip dresses were all over. For the first look, the off-the-shoulder dress is paired with some kick-ass thigh high boots. This way, your legs are covered. Try adding a scarf over your shoulders if your arms get cold. For the second outfit, a turtleneck is layered under the slip dress. The great thing about this look is that you can dress it up or down. For a casual look, try slip-on sneakers, like these Vans. For a slightly more dressed up look, I suggest these beautiful lace up flats. For fancier affairs, these nude heels are the best bet.
