How To Make Your Photos Look Amazing

Hi guys!

I’ve always envied people who have glossy, professional style photos on their Instagram profiles. You know, the kind of pictures that look like they were professionally styled and shot, even though they were taken on a regular phone camera? When I went on my trip to Europe I decided that I wanted to up my photo game. I discovered some apps that will also take your pics to the next level: read on for more.

Instagram

Everyone’s used an Instagram filter or two in their life, and a couple of my favorites are Lark, Mayfair, Ludwig, and Juno. However, I think the other Instagram photo settings are just as (if not more) important than the filters. You can play with the brightness, contrast, structure, warmth, saturation, and more.

Afterlight

Afterlight has a bunch of filters and photo settings like Instagram, but my favorite feature of this app is simply just the camera. When you take a photo with Afterlight it automatically makes your picture look better, and honestly I’m still not sure why or how it does it. Let’s just chalk it up to photo magic 💫.

Candy Camera

There’s nothing worse than taking the perfect selfie and then realizing that you have a giant pimple on your face. With Candy Camera, you can erase that pimple – and so much else. You can brighten your under eyes, cover blemishes, and even slim your waist. Be careful though, as a light touch is best with Candy Camera, or your pictures will run the risk of looking cartoonish.

Boomerang

Boomerang technically isn’t for photos, but it’s so amazing that I had to add it on the list. Boomerang is for taking short, looping videos. I love it because it adds a little oomph to your feed, and it’s a great option if you don’t want to just take a regular picture.

PhotoGrid

Want to square crop your photo to Instagram’s ratio? Or make a collage? Or a slideshow? Say hello to Photogrid. This app will help you make masterpieces out of your photos and videos with stickers and backgrounds and anything else that you can imagine.
